Korean Palace (Gangnam Style) @ Tanjung Tokong, Penang

This restaurant is out of business.

Kimchi is a must for Korean food and I really like the flavour it gives for the food prepared.

My friend decided to go to a Korean Restaurant at Tanjung Tokong for dinner and she suggested Korean Palace as the BBQ is delicious.

The menu of Korean Palace.
Silver elaborated classy design.

The appetiser.
I have no idea what it is.
It seems that it is a sweet bean soup.
It taste not bad actually.

The side dishes!
8 side dishes (banchan) which can be refilled
(plus the lettuce to wrap the barbecued meat)

Coleslaw, kimchi (cabbage, brinjal, cucumber)
Sliced lotus root (Yoengeun jorim), stir fried spinach, potatoes and fish cakes.

My fav goes to the original kimchi, lotus root and potatoes!

Dalkom Dakgui (Chicken with Teriyaki Sauce) @ RM 29.00

I like the sweet taste of the barbecued chicken.
However, I dislike the skin and the fat of the chicken ( I can ignore that)
Sweet fragrant terikayi sauce really makes it good.

The sweet chili sauce, garlic and green chili
to add in your lettuce wrap.

Kimchi Stew (Kimchi Jjigae) @ RM 18.00

I like the spicy and sourish taste of the soup.
A treasure in a hot pot indeed, with pork, kimchi,
spring onion, rice cake slices, glass noodles and tofu (did I miss anything?)
Very appetising indeed and it goes well with plain rice.

The stainless steel rice bowl.

The green tea served.
A bit diluted. But still ok.

The serving glass.
I like the simple design.
Wonder what's the meaning though.

Soju on the table.
Dare to try it? XP

The dining area.
You can choose to dine at the table or
the traditional floor sitting (how do I say it) like the ones
found in Japanese Restaurant perhaps?

A LCD projector was installed in the shop.
Music Videos of Korean singers and groups were projected on the windows.
You can see it below the shop while looking up at the windows.

The entrance of Korean Palace.
See the red blue lanterns?
They are found in the restaurant as well.

We used the stairs to go to the restaurant.
This sign can be found in the stairways.
The first floor, using the elevator can be a choice as well. XP

The facade of the restaurant.
You can see it clearly by the road side.

The shop lots are after Palace d' India of Tanjung Tokong (not sure if it is still opening).
Anyway, you can't miss the big red sign of the shop.

The Korean food is good and my next mission is to try the bibimbap. Can't wait for my next visit for more banchan.
