Xuan Xin Steamboat @ Gurney Plaza

Please take note that this outlet is no longer available at Gurney Plaza

Xuan Xin has 3 eatery outlets in Gurney Plaza. Recently, they opened another steamboat outlet in Gurney Plaza (the highest level of the plaza, same level as GSC Cinema), besides the Xuan Xin Restaurant on the 3rd floor of Gurney Plaza's New Wing ( beside Sakae Sushi) and Xuan Xin Ramen Kitchen located at the basement of Gurney Plaza ( the same row as Speedy Video).

I always have my meal with my family at Xuan Xin restaurant due to the affordable price of the set meals offered. Well, much more cheaper as compared to the food found at the other eateries around the mall. (shall write a post on that soon...real soon ^^)

Xuan Xin Steamboat at Gurney Plaza is similar to our well-known local delight, 'Lok Lok'. The ingredients were put together using a skewer. You can just dip the skewers into the soup of your choice and enjoy your food. XD Besides, if you were a fan of barbecue, YUP, you can send your food to the barbecue corner to be grilled without going all the fuss of grilling them by yourself and ended up smelling like you've been smoked. Urgh!

Assorted fish balls waiting to be cooked.
Notice the sauce? They are available at the counter near the kitchen.

'Lok Lok' styled steamboat.
 Mix Soup Base @ RM6.00
(Chicken and Tom Yam Soup)

The barbecued skewer :  Curry Fish Fillets (They are delicious. XD)
Curry Venison (can be a bit tough to chew) and Chicken

After eating, place the sticks in the metal container provided.
Remember not to remove the coloured sticker at the other tip of the skewer.
You'll be charged for RM10 per stick for the stick if you lost the sticker. =.=

See the coloured stickers at the other end of the skewer? The ingredients are charged based on the colour of the sticker.

Yellow for RM 1.00 per stick.
Green (RM1.50), Blue (RM 2.00) and so on. It is written clearly on top of the freezer where the ingredients are stored. Pay attention on the label if you were on a budget.

Green Tea Ice Floss @ RM8.60
The ice is soft and smooth, just like ice-cream and it melts instantly in your mouth.
I like the texture. Not too sweet and it is a perfect  when eaten together with red beans.
The ice floss was served together with peanut chunks, red beans and big 'sagu' as found in bubble tea.

The interior and exterior of the restaurant.

The service of this outlet is fine. But, it is kinda pricey for steamboat. If you can eat a lot...(I mean gobbled down food with a huge appetite), I would suggest you to go for the steamboat at Soul Garden.
Anyway, I the Ice Floss is worth a try. I would definitely go back again to try out more Ice Floss with different flavour.

Food: 6/10 -- Steamboat and barbecue, nothing unique when it comes to the soup's flavour (except for the grilled curry fish skewer and Ice Floss that I really like)

Ambiance: 7/10 -- new, clean place for a meal. Nothing unique for you to start snapping photos none stop though.
