Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop (正斗) @ Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang

I have heard about this restaurant before they opened an outlet in Penang during my trip to Hong Kong. But, as usual, too many things to explore and food to try. Alas!

Back to this noodle restaurant, I read online that the IFC outlet in Hong Kong obtained Michelin's Bib Gourmet award this year, which is pretty awesome. And also, it is great to have Tasty here for use to sample some Hong Kong delicacies.

You won't miss the sign and it is pretty easy to locate the restaurant.
You can reach the restaurant via the entrance beside
Jurlique at Level 5.

The restaurant is located just a floor below Penang on 6.

The tasty roasted poultry and pork welcoming
diners at the entrance.

The menu of the restaurant.
Looks elegant in black.

The Chinese themed dining area.

You can opt to sit and dine by the window. ^^

Setting of the table.

We ordered the House Tea , which costs RM 2.00
per person. The tea comes in a metal tea pot, which
is refillable. Gonna ask them about other selection
of tea for my next visit.

House Specialty Wantan Noodles in Soup @ RM 15.80

Love the texture of the thin noodles which is not soggy.
The wantan is well seasoned, with fresh ingredients.
I was delighted that the prawns in the wantan are fresh
and they taste good. Not to mention that the soup is lovely.
So, worth a try, in my opinion.

Barbecue in 2 Selection @ RM 26.00

The roasted pork is delicious, although the pork has
a thick layer of lard.

You can have them with wither their special sauce
or mustard. Hmm...I prefer to taste their authentic
flavour though. Hehe

We opted to change the second selection of poultry to
duck drumstick with an additional charge of RM 5.00

For chicken drumstick, RM 3.00 is needed

The duck has a crispy juicy skin. However, the texture of the
meat is kinda tough. I had a hard time biting since
they chop the drumstick in large chunks.

Still, I prefer the roasted pork.

Hong Kong Egg Tart @ RM 6.80

Wow... I really love this egg tart and this is the best which
I have had so far in Penang.

Crispy flaky pastry with wobbly custard.
Gonna order them again.

火鴨粥 Roast Duck Congee @ RM 13.80

Love the smooth texture of the congee.
There is a sweet flavour and aroma, due to the duck
perhaps and I love this.

Generous amount of duck meat can be found in the congee.
Worth a try, in my opinion.

葱花虾米肠粉 @ RM 8.80
Chopped Spring Onion with Shrimp Rice Roll

Well, the texture is a bit soggy as the rice roll
soaked up the sauce.Perhaps we poured it and left it
with the sauce for way too long. Opps =.=

Dried shrimp can be found in this dish and although
they are generous with the ingredients, it lacks flavour.

The sauce is not salty, but there seems to be something
missing when it comes to satisfying the taste buds.

晶莹鲜虾饺 Steamed Shrimp Dumplings
 @ RM 13.80

Ordered this because I was craving for it the other day.
However, it was kinda disappointed.

The shrimps are fresh, with the think skin of the dumplings,
which are good. however, there seems to be somethig
missing when it comes to the taste.
It lacks flavour, although the shrimps are fresh.

Well, it really much depends on your taste buds to see which food on the menu suits your liking. Nevertheless, the service is good with good dining ambiance. The food does not cost you a fortune, so, it is still worth a try once in a while. Plus, I would like to go for their egg tarts again pretty soon. ;D

GST and service charge are included in the bill, for your info.
