If you fancy rice and dishes instead of some other fancy restaurant, Fresh Bite can be an option for you when you are in Gurney Plaza. I just can't think of what to have last Saturday and my mom suggested to have our lunch there for a change.
You can spot the big logo outside the
restaurant. They have a pastry corner
too for take away.
Not so sure what they have there though.
The dining area which has a simple design.
The promotional set comes with 2 bowls
of rice (for 2 person of course...hehe) which
costs RM 33.90 per set.
They have six sets of different combination
of dishes and you can choose based
on your liking. They featured local dishes
mostly, with a sour vegetable stew,
stir fried vegetables and another Nyonya
or curry dish.
There are set meals for 3 or 4 persons
in the menu as well.

They have other individual set meals in their menu
as well and they are pretty worth it.
The portion is big and the rice even comes with
bok choy, papadom and fried bean curt.
I was surprised when I saw the dishes as I
thought that there will only be soup,rice
and the main dish. Pretty satisfying I would say.
The chicken has a crispy skin and the sauce is not
spicy after all, it tastes sweet instead. ^^
I love the combination of yam and the sauce.
They are pretty unique and the yam is well cooked,
with chewy texture. Pretty appetising dish,
in my opinion.

Home-made pickled sour vegetables soup
This is pretty appetising due to the sour tastes of
the pickled vegetables. It is just like the vegetables
stew I used to have at home with sour pickled
leafy vegetables, tomatoes, roasted pork and
mushrooms. I love the soup and it is great
that they keep the soup hot when they serve it.
Fried mushroom and vegetable omelette
The omelette comes with a big portion and it
is actually enough for 4 person.
They have chives and dried shiitake mushrooms
in it (not sure if they are carrots).
It is not salty and it inspire me to recreate similar
omelette at home. XD
Nyonya deep fried lemon grass chicken
The chicken is crispy and it has a lovely flavour
due to the lemon grass and some other spices
perhaps. Love the texture and the aroma.
Japanese Green Tea @ RM 4.50
I have been to Fresh Bite once for their set meal before I write this entry. They are pretty worth it as the price is reasonable and the portion of food is generous. There were 3 of us and we almost couldn't finish up the food. Looking forward to try other items in their menu during my next 'lepak' trip at Gurney Plaza.
