Central 中環 @ Hong Kong

A trip to Central is a must and my trip was incomplete since I didn't drop by Lan Kwai Fong. I went to Queen's Road's Sasa for a shopping spree before heading to the mid-level's escalators.

Anyway, here's what you'll see when you drop by Central for a drink, for a meal, or just a stroll like me.

Pottinger Street: Yarn covered railing
The place was colourful.

It took me a while to find the four vintage
street lamp of Duddell Street due to
my poor map reading skill. >.<

I read online that these are the only 4 oil lamps
left from the olden days and I am
very impressed to see them.

Guide to Duddell StreetDiscover HK

After taking some photos, it is time for
some coffee at a Bing Sutt  Starbucks!

You can spot the entrance on your right,
facing upwards the staircase of
Duddell Street.

Here's the guide from Starbucks:

or perhaps a map from Open Rice helps:

The drink menu in Chinese.
See the white square at the lower right
hand side of the brown board.

It says :'Do take photos as you please'
Cameras...ready!!!!

What makes this outlet special is the retro design
which brings you back to the olden days of
Hong Kong. It is like travelling back in time
when you see the furniture, the decorations, the tiles and the
dimly lit relaxing ambiance.
Impressive,yet nostalgic.

The dining area which represents an olden day
'Bing Sutt' (冰室), as in local eatery.
You have to explore yourself to be wowed
by the environment.I am not kidding. ^^

The entrance of Yung Kee.
You will not miss the gold coloured signboard.

I went there on a weekday at 3pm.
After lunch time, so, the place was almost empty
with only 3-4 tables occupied.
It can be crowded, during lunch and dinner time
and my friend said you need to wait
for a long time to get a table.

Based on what I read, it is a restaurant
with a long history and people claim that they serve
one of the best roast goose in HK, sought after
by foodies and it received rave review.

The signature roasted goose.
It is tasty with the sauce.
Without the sauce, it tastes normal.
Tender meat with a slight crispy skin,
so, no complaints.

For a quarter of the goose, it is around 160 HKD.
Worth a try if you are not on a tight budget.

Bak Choy with mushroom @ less than HKD 90
(I can't recall and I forgotten to ask for the bill
after paying)

Vegetables are expensive in HK .
I ordered this because I haven't had any for 2 days O.O
It tastes good and I love the mushroom.

Comfortable dining with luxurious setting as
compared to some other places.

The items are pricey and I made a mistake by
ordering Pu Er Tea.
The bill reached more than 100 Malaysian Ringgit.
 Don't say I didn't warn you. Hehe ^^
